Administration flow charts

These charts provide an overview of the things you need to do and complete in order to graduate. It is a good idea to check these items off as they are done, and write the dates and notes on the page alongside.

Course requirements

Course requirements for the Master’s and PhD programs in Biomedical Engineering are detailed in the spreadsheet. This spreadsheet also allows you to fill in the blanks and complete your plan to meet the requirements. Historically, the scheduled times and availability of courses is variable. Sometimes a listed course will not be offered. Therefore, you need to be sure that the scheduled times and availability of the required courses you have included in your plan are accurate.

Tables of course requirements

These tables are designed to help the student quickly identify course requirements, and categories of courses that are needed for completion of the program. One or the other table should be filled in completely, and updated quarterly as you proceed through the program. The table should record changes, by using a single-line to cross through, rather than delete changes. A new table should be started if the changes are so extensive that you run out of space.

General preparation

This is a list of the UC Davis course offerings that are used to meet the general requirements of the BME graduate program (either Master’s or PhD).

Main List

These are the usual courses meeting General Requirements.

List of possible alternate courses

These are courses from other departments (e.g. Physics) that might be substituted for certain required courses. In order to be eligible as a substitute, the course must substantially match the content of the required course.

Specialized preparation

Long list: Upper division and graduate courses

This is a long list of the UC Davis course offerings, both upper and lower division. There are many courses in this list that have never been used to satisfy degree requirements. But hey, would might be the first one with a new course never before used!

Short list: Upper division and graduate courses

This is the list above, honed down to the most likely courses that will be used to satisfy the course requirements of the BME Masters and Doctoral Degree programs.

Employment Opportunities

Be sure to check "Job postings" in "Important Postings" section, and the relevant sections of the BME Graduate Student Handbook.
